1Acre in the bid to encourage individuals to be interested and invested in agriculture, will be offering farm management services to the public.
These include;

*Acting as a middleman between land owners and interested farmers *Conducting farming activities on behalf of financial farmers (persons interested in agriculture)
*Managing farms and farming activities of farmers
*Leasing land to interested farmers
*Hiring of agricultural equipment and services to interested farmers.
In carrying out the above stated services, some innovative approach would be used which include;

a. Drone – Also known as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), would be used to get data on soil temperature, plant population, areas of pest attacks, and areas of uneven growth of crops. 1Acre would also utilize drones in the area of pest, fertilizer and herbicide application which is a very time consuming operation. A drone covers an average of 1-2 hectares/hour depending on the operation to be done. This would greatly revolutionize the farming space in terms of farm management. It is open for hire.

b. Irrigation – In recent years, Africa has taken a major hit as regards climate change, as our rainfalls have become erratic. Therefore to mitigate this, we are going to engage in irrigation for our operations, as crops need water to grow not rain. 1Acre would combine both drip and sprinkler system as the situation demands.

c. Mobile App. – Still in its infancy though, work has started on a mobile application that would enable young farmers get current weather updates and advice on the best time to carry out operations as many don’t have access to that information. The app would also have a catalogue of popular pests/diseases of major crops so farmers can always get knowledge of control real-time. Lastly, as a support to the farm management service, clients would get personalized updates on the state of their land. The update would be weekly or bi-weekly. The information provided on the app could be accessed online and offline. The mobile app would be in constant sync with the 1Acre website; www.1acre.ng which will undergo regular updates to keep information fresh for visitors.

d. Tractor and its implement – Farm mechanization is a faster route out of the current shortage in supply of some crops in the country. 1Acre pledges to first raise the awareness of the importance of using good farm machineries and then provide affordable services to local farmers. This would optimize their farming and also improve yield.
